Jacob was only 10 when conflict forced his family to flee their village. He lost two years of schooling before EiC’s program helped him return to class. Today, he walks three hours each day to reach his school called Bishop Macram Secondary School but says, “It’s worth every step.” His passion for mathematics keeps him going even on empty stomachs, and he now helps younger children in his village with their homework. He wants to become an engineer so he can help in rebuilding schools in the Nuba Mountains.
